Has the Full-Range Trade-off Changed?
TECNIS Odyssey extends the full-range diffractive concept with a different balance across distance, intermediate, near vision, refractive tolerance and quality of vision. Current evidence supports broad functional vision and strong distance performance. Direct comparisons show endpoint-specific differences. Higher measured bench straylight does not automatically mean greater patient-perceived glare.

Tolerance depends on axis and amount. It is not permission to accept residual refractive error.
Review pp. 04–05 · references 3, 10Comparator context
Synergy is predecessor context, not Odyssey-specific evidence. Comparative findings remain endpoint-specific.
Review pp. 04, 08–09 · references 3, 7–8Not yet established
Higher in-vitro straylight does not demonstrate greater patient-perceived glare. No significant difference does not prove equivalence.
Review pp. 09–12 · references 7–9The central question
Does Odyssey improve the traditional full-range trade-off—or redistribute it?
