Ophthalmic Intelligence Europe
About OIE
Independent evidence-led ophthalmic intelligence, published through Market Analysis, Evidence Reviews and Frameworks.
Complex evidence.
A clearer interpretation.
Our purpose is simple: to make complex evidence faster to understand without making it less rigorous.
OIE brings optical mechanisms, clinical outcomes and remaining uncertainty into a concise editorial format. The aim is to help ophthalmologists, researchers and industry professionals understand what changed, what the evidence supports and which questions remain open.
Founder & Editor
Burak Mergen, MD, FEBO, FICO
Ophthalmic surgeon practising in Germany, with a clinical focus on cataract and refractive surgery.
Publications & professional advisory
OIE’s independent Market Analysis, Evidence Reviews and Clinical Frameworks remain freely accessible. Advisory & Custom Research provides a separate route for tailored, project-based scientific assessment and expert consultation.
Editorial independence
Ophthalmic Intelligence Europe is an independent evidence-led ophthalmic intelligence publication. Manufacturer claims are evaluated alongside independent and clinical evidence and are identified by source type.
Industry involvement is disclosed where available and informs interpretation; it does not automatically invalidate a study. Positive findings and limitations are both reported in proportion to the evidence.
Conflict-of-interest, funding and manufacturer-involvement statements are publication-specific. Read the verified statements on each publication page or in its PDF; source-study funding and author relationships remain separate.
Custom advisory engagements are conducted separately from OIE’s independent editorial publications. Relevant financial relationships and potential conflicts of interest are assessed and disclosed where appropriate.
Evidence changes.
Each issue’s evidence cutoff is retained on its landing page. Future revisions can identify their version and update date so readers can distinguish the original evidence horizon from later changes.
